Hazelmere Kennels, Surrey Reviews (6)
Wonderful Kennel, amazing staff, clean well maintained
I leave my dog at the kennel when I travel. She is a large breed and enjoys the company of other guests she gets to visit with. Very social atmosphere.
Friendly clean facility I bring my puppy too, never worried when I leave him in Hazelmeres care
This is a hidden gem in Langley. Staff are well trained and observant. What I respect the most is that they report to me on any and all observations that are out of the norm for my pet. I use them about 2-4 times a year and my dog never fails to go in with enthusiasm and I get him back happy and in one piece. Through my experience with them, I will say that I trust them. That is the highest praise that I have for anyone caring for my dearly beloved family member.
My dog had an amazing stay at Hazelmere , I've been using them for the past year for my daycare needs
My dog was inexplicably traumatized with her stay at Hazelmere.
Done ALL correctly to ensure my dog would be properlytaken care of.
Despite bringing her in the year before to meet staff. be evaluated, see place (with exceptional references, utd medical records, her history, feed schedule, etc.) and upon 4 day advance reservation call to book boarding & mgr. repeated board cost, thought 'no problem' here.
(Also, on designated day, no issue dropping my dog off with her possessions and food to the mgr. & staff)
How wrong I was! My large once-rescued dog is very laid back, full of taught tricks, dog/cat social. Much like my previous Boxers, Staffs, Labs, mix breeds temperament! (Have rescued, fostered, adopted an array of many dogs for decades )
Upon p.u. was told she was no longer welcome there because staff were young and not experienced enough because she was "too hyper"! I deduced they were AFRAID of her. coz she RAN OUT UNATTENDED & NO COLLARS ON (she had 2, 1 with ID tags) from the back room in the entry area (could have easily ran out onto street if door was open)! They just released her from back cage/kennel I presume unescorted!!!
I also presume she was left in kennel not even exercised.
- Plus told boarding costs were near double of what was quoted prior!
My dog came home noticeably fearful, out of sorts (sullen, staring blankly, not playful, listless), would not open screen door to come in house which she routinely + casually do, nor willingly walk thru gate to go into yard.
Hazelmere is inconsistent with boarding costs quoted & DEFINITELY dog breed discriminatory. with misconception.
They seem to cater to smaller breed dogs and 'some' known larger breeds.
Would never ever recommend this inexperience, unprofessional boarding kennel.
Camrose Kennels in Surrey is superb, the staff, owners (Simon & Terry") are terrific. No problem whatsoever with her multiple stays at this truly "ALL dog-friendly" establishment!
So confident when I board her there, she comes home "safe & happy".
My dog loves it there, but, they were booked solid, so unfortunately this 1 overnight stay was at further away Hazelmere. What a disheartening, guilt-ridden mistake and single experience.
