Excellent selection of everything the sweet tooth could want. Candy from your childhood and international selections as well. Pretty good value if you fill up a bulk bag. I always spend around $20 per visit, because it's all so good.

I just stumbled into the store while walking in the rain back to my hotel. I am a huge Willy Wonka fan and love the old candy that made me so happy as a child. I spent a good hour in the store and I am still going back tomorrow just in case I missed something. I spent $65 and the most amazing thing to me was the Wonka bars that have the chance to win the golden ticket. I am keeping my fingers crossed!! I have watch Willy Wonka (original) hundreds of times, I have picked wonka colors for my wedding (purple and green) and I have painted a room in my house and I am tying to get Wonka posters and such. I love the Freak Lunchbox, and so wish that there was one in Saint John New Brunswick. Might have to look into a franchise!!!

this store is amazing! its a tiny little thing, something you almost wouldnt notice, except for the vibrant colours and life size uumpa loompa character outside! inside is abolutly amazing, everything is COVERED with candy! even the ceiling has old candy boxes on it. you can either choose to put your candy in a chinese take-out box, or a small plastic bag. the bags come in these cool boxes that have hand written comments on them ( some have made me laugh so hard i had to stop and take a breather) all of the art work is original, so you cant take photo's inside the shop, which is a bit of a bummer, but understandable. the staff is funny and cool, and obviously love working there! the candy is reasonably priced, and the tin lunchboxes are around 20-25 dollars. i highly recomend this shop! its a one of a kind! - and if you are a business, im sure your customers will be pleasently supprised if you give them a gift basket full of freak lunchbox stuff! ( which they wll make for you )

Have you been to the Freak Lunchbox on Barrington Street in Halifax? Well be sure to visit it the next time you are in downtown Halifax!! This has to be best candy store ever!!! I found candy there that I have not had (or seen) since I was a kid. Its amazing decorated with a lot of orginal art work done by the owner I am told. Its just fun to go in and browse although the temptation of the candy will be a little hard to resist!! The staff are outgoing and helpful. Besides the candy they have some strange gift ideas that will certainly work for that hard to buy for friend!. Where else will you find a bobble head jesus for the dash of your car I ask?? They also have a variety of tin lunch boxes that cover the cartoons and sitcoms of our childhood as well as many other unsual but fun items!! Its a great candy store for old and young alike and a must to see when in downtown Halifax with the kids or just on your own!!

I love doing up awesome gift bags for the kids at parties. I came to Toronto just to do treat bags for 12 kids at my sons last party and I had a blast doing it. I love finding unique little spots with more stuff to add.

I will defibatly be checking it out!
